Polonia - NAC / NAC - Polonia
I think a lot of our supporters will traves by car. The locos bus is not a alternitive for a lot of people because the ride by bus takes about 40 hours and you will only see the math and be a few hour in the city where the match is played. I think there will be at least 300 Naccers that go to Poland or Italy ( I hope Poland ). If we play against Polonia we travel to Poland on Tuesday evening and go back on friday in the evening. We wont only see the match but see something of Poland and drink a lot of beer . From our side it is almost certain of getting to the next round and hope that your team will defeat Italy. Hope to see you in Warszawa next week and drink a few beers. Cheers Pilske.NAC EL pisze:NAC fans are always a bit on the up side with the amount of fans going. My guess would be about 200 fans. 50 by bus, maybe 50 by sponsored train, 30 by sponsored plane and some 70 by car.
I don't think 400 is very realistic.
Yes, the beer is quite cheap, average beer in a regular shop costs about 3 zlotys (0,75 euro, I suppose) and it's about 6-8 zł (2 euro) in the pub. I can recommend Browarmia Królewska ("The Royal Brewery") which is relatively close to Polonia, it's situated in Krakowskie Przedmieście, near the Univeristy. They have some great home-made beers.
You can also go to Bierhalle on Nowy Świat.
Any questions - PM.

mind you, in Poland as in the rest of Central Europe, we drink our beer is 0,5l glasses minimum. Unlike some pussy nations (I will not give any specific names) who prefer 0,4l or 0,3 or even 0,2 fluitje glasses that you can barely wet your tongue in.
generally beer in Poland is not much cheaper than in NL - in the shop I'd say it's actually more expensive compared to a Heineken, Grolsch or Bavaria.
Oh - and please, avoid pubs that sell a beer called "Królewskie" - its piss and they sponsor Legia...

We will. Hopefully we will have some time there and we won't see just the train station to get to Bydgoszcz...kozlorf pisze:And, to all Dutch guys here: please let us know your opinions about your stay in Warsaw afterwards
The club announced today we can buy tickets as from tomorrow for the away match. They mention both Polonia and Juvenes have 3 stadiums where they might play. For Polonia it's Warsaw, Kielce and Bydgoszcz... for Juvenes it's Dogana, Rimini or Cesena. They mention as well it will be known latest on Friday where the game will be played.
Don't you just love European Football

Hmmm, contrary to above I must say I do not recommend these places. This is in fasion now, but these are all german systems of producing beers in the pub, everytwhere same. Not bad, but it is definately something more typical for German beers.jędrekKSP pisze:Yes, the beer is quite cheap, average beer in a regular shop costs about 3 zlotys (0,75 euro, I suppose) and it's about 6-8 zł (2 euro) in the pub. Polish beer is unique and for some people best in the world. It is little bit stronger than your Heineken, Amstel or Grolsch - usually vary between 5,8 and 6,2% of alcohol. It is also more bitter than your beer.
Best known brands (all bought by western breweries) are: Tyskie, Lech, Zubr (currently SubMiller), Zywiec, Warka (Heneineken) and probably currently best one Okocim (Carlsberg).
Besides there is not pasteurized beer Ciechan, also worth beeing tried
I do not recommend polish strong beers (Warka Strong, Okocim Mocne, etc) - they have above 7% of alcohol but this is thanks to sugar added to fermentation what absolutely destroy taste.

despite my strong patriotic sentiments I totally disagree that Polish beers are anything unique and "best in the world". Basically all beers in Poland are the simplest Pils(eners) or lagers. Not a single brewery in the country has any traditional methods of production - they are all modern mass breweries. The smaller breweries which will go bankrupt soon anyway try to pretend they make "old-school" beers by e.g. not pasturizing them. Variations between different brands are very slight - Tyskie is a bit sweeter than Zywiec for example. If you grew up in a more Belgian "beer" tradition (flowery taste of perfumed piss drank in wine glasses etc.) you will not like those beers - and then Jedrek is right - try BrowArmia. But if you're ok with simple beers for simple people then Polish beers are just fine.
Don't be suprised when you see people in pubs puting raspberyy or ginger sypur in their beers. Poles used to be a beer drinking nation, but that tradition was destroyed by Communism and we need some time to regain the lost heritage.
Polish vodkas are the best in the world, no doubt about that
